Onondaga Lake Partnership promotes cooperation among government
agencies and other parties involved in managing the environmental
issues of Onondaga Lake and the Onondaga Lake watershed.
The Onondaga Lake Rehabilitation Guidance - 2020
Vision Project – was initiated by the Onondaga Lake
Partnership to support development of a community-based vision for the
future of Onondaga Lake. The project is funded by the Onondaga Lake
Partnership (OLP) through the Onondaga Environmental Institute (OEI)
and managed by EcoLogic, LLC.
The
Final Report
is
available for public comment. The elements of the community vision are
summarized in the Executive Summary and in Chapter 4. Do you feel that
the vision described in this report reflects your vision? If not, how
would you change the vision described in the report? The comment period
ends on July 27, 2007.

Cayuga
Lake is the centerpiece of the Finger Lakes. From its
southern headwaters, which form some of the region's most spectacular
gorges and waterfalls, the lake stretches nearly forty miles to its
northern outlet at the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. It
is the longest, widest and has the largest drainage basin of the eleven
Finger Lakes.

Lake Source Cooling (LSC) project is a replacement and upgrade of the
central campus chilled water system with a more environmentally sound
design that conserves energy and utilizes a renewable resource, the
deep cold waters of nearby Cayuga Lake.
